Båstad & Bjäre Peninsula

Sweaty guide to Båstad

That Båstad is associated with tennis is nothing new. But there are more sports that flourish in the area. Here's a sweaty guide to Båstad, designed for those of you who like to use your muscles even when you're on the go.

Padel – the fever that won't go away

Padel has taken the world by storm, and Båstad is no exception. There are many courses here, both indoors and outdoors, that attract players. If you like a sea view, the courses at Norrviken are a hot tip, and if you want to be right in the center of the action, maybe the runway at Båstad harbour is a good alternative. The largest padel hall with both indoor and outdoor courts is Central at the station. Even in Doodling there are outdoor courts and several of the golf clubs now also offer padel courts. Whoever you are, you will find a good one padel court somewhere on the Bjäre Peninsula.

Tennis – the classic in Båstad

For almost a hundred years, tennis has been part of everyday life and life in Båstad. Forget the upper-class reputation and the snob label, and erase the image of everyone playing on the iconic center court in the middle of the village. Tennis is a popular sport on the Bjäre Peninsula and there are many courts to rent. From Båstad Sports Centers large year-round facility for gravel in Förslöv, tucked away in Grevie and close to the beach in Hemmeslöv - here there is a substantial selection tennis courts

Road cycling – new and popular

Nice winding roads, many meters of altitude and beautiful views. There you have the answer to why the Bjäre Peninsula has become a destination for road cyclists. They appear in large groups especially on weekends, but roads and views remain every day of the week. You will find tips on rounds here. Banvallen, the old railway that is now a paved walking, cycling and horse-riding path, is a brilliant transport stretch if you want to avoid car traffic for parts of your tour.

All of them offer summer passes and/or opportunities for drop-in if you are on a temporary visit.
