With summer comes outdoor seating and seasonal restaurants. The selection varies from year to year, but some summer gems return like a migratory bird to the same place with the same menu (or something similar) for a few months, and then close down again as soon as the summer guests leave the Bjäre Peninsula. You'll find some reliable favorites in this list of 5 hearty summer gems, but keep your eyes open every year around Easter when the seasonal restaurants usually open their doors.
5 satiating summer pearls
THE HARBOR Tavern in TOREKOV
Classics with cozy outdoor seating. Here you can watch sailboats docking in the guest harbor, children running around and playing and strolling summer guests with ice cream in hand. The fish and shellfish soup is an eternal favorite with many regulars, while a glass of champagne adds the right glamorous feeling.
BAHIA IN RESIDENTIAL TOWN
The location is wonderful and the atmosphere relaxed at the small green shed at the far end towards the western pier in Båstad harbour. Here's the dress code of the barefoot, straight-from-the-beach type. It matches well the food style that is street food such as fish tacos and poke bowl.
SOLBACKEN IN BÅSTAD
Solbacken has been a cafe and waffle factory since 1907. There are memories and nostalgia here that make grown men cry a little. You can find the restaurant along the Italienska vägen where it winds up from Båstad towards Boarp. Here you choose a garden table somewhere among paths and floral delights, with a heavenly view of the water and greenery.
THE PORCH IN BÅSTAD
By the pools at Malen's seaside resort, there is this tavern, which, however, mostly consists of just a large veranda. Although a large parking lot is located in the line of sight to the sea, the place is more characterized by the graveled bicycle and pedestrian path Strandpromenade. In high season, the intensity is reminiscent of a motorway, but here for dressed-up cycling holidaymakers. For entertainment, you can eat tapas or a really good burger.
HAMNKROGEN IN RAMMSJÖSTRAND
Charming and straight to the point - the harbor pub in Rammsjöstrand clearly gives off some Danish vibes. Here, the typical dish is schnitzel and the environment is a kiosk with simple outdoor furniture. Perfect as a counterpoint to the dressed-up, polished and glamorous that the Bjäre Peninsula is often associated with. Combine the experience with an evening dip from the jetty or a short walk in the nature reserve towards Mäsinge.
