Båstad Golf Club's two courses are beautifully situated in hilly terrain on the Bjäre Peninsula. Both are varied and require great precision. Gamla Banan, which is Sweden's second oldest 18-hole course, is a classic among Swedish park courses. In the spring of 1930, Gamla Banan was inaugurated, which is Sweden's second 18-hole course. It was designed by architects Hawtree & Taylor. It is a typical English park course, with well-piled undulating greens. Among those who made pairs and bogeys on the day of the premiere was the then Crown Prince, who together with Prince Sigvard and Consul General Carl Bergsten was pleased to state: "This is one of the foremost courses in Sweden, yes in the whole of the Nordic countries". An assessment that has stood the test of time.
