The Right of Public Access
The Right of Public Access is a unique privilege that rests on all of us taking responsibility together. We exercise it well when we show consideration for animals, nature, landowners and fellow people. Thanks to the Right of Public Access, we can move freely in nature, pick berries and mushrooms and camp for a night or two in a tent almost anywhere. It belongs to everyone and welcomes both those in well-worn hiking boots and those who prefer sneakers. It is simply there to be enjoyed — front-row sunsets, a taste of autumn's first blueberries and the chance to breathe forest air on your lunch break. Whatever you do, nature does you good. The Right of Public Access comes with both rights and responsibilities. Here you will find information on the opportunities it gives us and how to honour it by showing consideration and respect.
