Båstad and the Bjäre peninsula sit strategically between sea and ridge — close to trains, airport, motorway and larger cities. You can get here easily by train, bus, car or plane, whether you come for a day by the sea, a weekend of spa and food experiences, or a longer stay.

By train you reach Båstad station from both south and north, and from the station you continue by bus, taxi, bike or on foot depending on where on the peninsula you're headed.

From Gothenburg the train journey to Båstad station takes about 1 hour 40 minutes to just over 2 hours depending on the departure and route. From Copenhagen Airport there are train connections via the Öresund region, and the journey to Båstad station takes around 2–3 hours depending on the departure.

If you fly domestically, Ängelholm Helsingborg Airport is the nearest airport. It has scheduled service to Stockholm Arlanda, and by car or taxi the onward journey to Båstad takes about 20–25 minutes.

Travelling by train is a smooth and sustainable way to reach Båstad. Båstad station lies just outside the centre and is served by regional trains. From here you continue by bus, taxi or bike to central Båstad, Torekov, Förslöv, Grevie, Västra Karup and other parts of the Bjäre peninsula.

For journeys within Skåne and from, for example, Malmö, Lund, Helsingborg or Copenhagen, Skånetrafiken is the natural journey planner. For longer train journeys, for example from Stockholm or other parts of Sweden, you may also need to search via SJ.

The bus is a good way to continue from Båstad station and around the Bjäre peninsula. With several departures a day, you can travel between the station, Båstad centre and several of the peninsula's towns. The bus also works well as a complement if you want to combine public transport with hiking, cycling or a day trip between the villages.

In areas without fixed bus lines there's also on-demand transport, often run by taxi and needing to be booked in advance. When the phone icon appears in the journey planner, it means the trip can be booked as pre-ordered transport.

If you come by car, Båstad is close to E6, which makes the destination easy to reach from both south and north. From Gothenburg the drive takes about 1 hour 50 minutes, and from Copenhagen Airport about 1 hour 30 minutes depending on traffic.

Once you're here, the car can be handy if you want to discover several parts of the Bjäre peninsula during the same stay — from Hovs Hallar and Torekov to farm shops, vineyards, beaches and small villages. At the same time, it works perfectly to combine the car with short walks, bike rides and public transport.

The nearest airport is Ängelholm Helsingborg Airport, about 20–25 minutes from Båstad by car or taxi. The airport offers scheduled service to Stockholm Arlanda, making Båstad easily accessible even for long-distance visitors and business travellers.

For international guests, Copenhagen Airport is an important option. From there you can continue by train across the Öresund and onward to Båstad station.

Once you've arrived, there are several ways to discover Båstad and the Bjäre peninsula. The buses take you between several of the towns, and during parts of the year the bike is a lovely way to experience the landscape at a calmer pace. Many places are also best experienced on foot — especially along the sea, in the harbour, on the hiking trails and in the smaller village settings.

Bjäre is a destination where the distances are short enough to fit in a lot, yet varied enough that each place feels like an experience of its own.
