Autumn

Slowly the colours shift across the peninsula and the leaves on the ridge's slopes light up in gold, while the sea grows darker and more pensive on the horizon. A stillness settles over the peninsula that makes every sound feel clearer: the wind in the grass, the waves against the rocks, leaves rustling underfoot.

It is a season that invites you to be present. The air is cool and clear, the scents of damp earth, ripe apples and freshly harvested grain hang in the air, and it feels as if the whole Bjäre peninsula breathes out after the summer.

Autumn on the Bjäre peninsula awaits – wild, beautiful and ready to be discovered.

Autumn is the hiking season on the Bjäre peninsula. The trails wind through golden beech forest, across open heathland and along steep cliffs with views over the sea. The cool air makes every step lighter, and the silence lets your gaze linger a little longer at every view.

Autumn is also the season of flavours. Restaurants serve goose dinners and lobster menus, as well as menus built around the season's produce from the Bjäre peninsula's farms and sea. Root vegetables, game, mushrooms and shellfish come together in dishes that capture the whole character of autumn – rustic, generous and full of local flavour.

When autumn lowers the temperature, the doors open to the Bjäre peninsula's spas. Warm steam, the scent of essential oils and the stillness after a day outdoors make autumn a natural time to wind down and let your body rest.

Autumn is the season when the Bjäre peninsula's land gives back what has grown over the summer. On farms and orchards you can pick your own apples and corn, or head into the forest in search of blueberries and mushrooms – simple moments close to the earth that feel especially vivid right now.

Autumn is harvest time for the Bjäre peninsula's vineyards too. At several vineyards you can join in picking grapes by hand, smell the rich juice in the press and get an insight into the work behind the bottle. Many vineyards also offer guided tours and tastings of the year's wines – a moment that brings together flavour, craft and the autumn mood across the landscape.
