Stories of

Båstad & Bjäre Peninsula

Lovely beaches

The beauty of a peninsula like Bjäre is that there is basically always a perfect beach somewhere. There are plenty of lovely beaches. You just need to know them.

Whether it's a westerly or easterly wind, whether you long for solitude or want to watch people, whether it's evening or early morning, whether you want to do sports or rest – there's a beach for you on the Bjäre Peninsula. Here you get four tips on lovely beaches for different needs.

1. Skansenbadet for service and crowds

In the middle of the village is Båstad's pulsating beach. Here, families with children (there are ice cream stands!) crowd with festive prices (there are bars!), and year-round residents (it's close to home!) with occasional visitors (there's parking!). Shallow beach with swimming raft a bit out and the possibility to swim from a ladder from the pier.

2. Glimminge Planting for southern sun and picnics

The south side of the Bjäre peninsula can boast several lovely stretches of beach, such as Ängelsbäcksstrand and Segelstorpsstrand. In Glimminge Plantering, the sand is fluffy and the beach shallow. There is also a jetty and a swimming raft here. Pack what you need in the way of food and enjoy the view of Kullaberg's majestic silhouette.

3. Sand harbor for adventure and white sand

Take the boat from Torekov or Båstad to Halland's Väderö and enjoy clear water and white sand. A small kiosk is available in summer, but otherwise it is a picnic. Sandhamn is a fantastic beach located right where the boat drops you off. A perfect little adventure for young and old.

4. Hemmeslövsstrand for large areas

Hemmeslövsstrand is a wide sandy beach that is also very long. Namely, it first crosses into Skummeslövsstrand and then Mellbystrand, which stretches north into Laholmsbukten for a little over a mile. Here it is shallow and safe for families with children, with plenty of space. Therefore, this beach is also a good starting point for those who want to run, cycle or walk along the sea.
